I cannot even believe that June is almost over…
That means that Fourth of July is right around the corner! …Like seriously…it’s on Saturday…
I thought I wasn’t ready, but these little sliders would actually be completely perfect for the occasion! They’re adorable, easy, and so delicious! Plus, I feel like all Fourth of July parties should serve food that’s been grilled. Just seems fitting, ya know?
But yes, I’m kind of obsessed with these little burgers. The base recipe comes from Martha Stewart, and she is an utter genius. The gruyere, dijon, and green onion are ridiculously good inside these patties. I make mine a little bit different as I like more cheese, more garlic, and in miniature size! It’s cuter that way, and better for a party! As for the bread crumbs, I like to just grind up stale baguettes super finely in my food processor.
Mixing the cheese and mustard into the patties themselves keeps these babies extra moist. No joke, these are the moistest and most delicious turkey burgers you will ever try—promise!
How gorgeous are those yellow plum tomatoes I found?! I love tomatoes in the summertime <3
I like to top my little sliders with all the fixin’s of a BLT sandwich. The crisp bacon, juicy tomato, and cool, crisp lettuce are fantastic textural contrasts.
Also guys, not about these burgers, but yesterday my baby brother turned 18. EIGHTEEN! He’s a legal adult, and I just. can’t. even. He’s going off to college in the Fall, and I’m beyond proud of him. Just had to get that off my chest 😀
