Just slowly melting to death over here…
Is the weather all I can talk about lately? Yes. 90+ degrees with no central A/C and it would be the only thing on your mind, too! A tropical storm hit Florida early this week and it knocked the power out of my family’s house there. My mom called to complain about the lack of A/C and I was just like OH I KNOW YOUR PLIGHT.
Good news! Today, the portable unit for my living room should be arriving, so I can consider turning my oven on again (Sorry, Dad… you’ll have to wait a bit longer for a batch of cookies… Not turning that oven on when it’s this freaking hot!). In the mean time, I’ve been making a lot of frozen concoctions in my blender, and this is my most recent favorite!
My Too Easy recipes seem to more often than not be beverages, because well… drinks don’t take a lot of time or ingredients, generally. Obviously, this is no exception—pop it all in a blender and blend away, then serve it up! There is really nothing extraordinary about the flavors here…but cherry plus vanilla is just so freaking good that it’s hard to get sick of. I used pure vanilla extract in this, but if you have a vanilla bean and want to get fancy, throw in half or quarter of one and it would be incredible.
There is banana in this mainly because a smoothie without banana always seems somewhat disappointing. Am I the only one that feels that way? It gives a great texture and natural sweetness that you just can’t beat 🙂
