Weekly Wants
This end of the week post features links to recipes and posts around the web that I’m totally lusting after.
These Savory Pumpkin-Cheddar Pancakes with Rosemary.
Um, first of all, pumpkin…’nuff said. But also, do you see that oozy egg on top?! Must eat.
This Slow Cooker Mexican Beef with Lime Crema and Pinto Beans.
For some reason I have a really tough time finding *good* slow-cooker recipes, but this one appears to be totally mouth-watering. LOVE the idea of tucking the beef into warm tortillas. (Side note: please post any good slow-cooker recipes below; I’m in need!)
These Stuffed Poblanos with Walnut Sauce (Chiles en Nogada).
Chiles stuffed with shredded pork, fruit, warm spices, and topped with a walnut-cream sauce?! It just gets better and better and BETTER.
These Grapefruit-Pistachio French Macarons.
I adore airy, sweet French macarons and I love the idea of flavoring them with grapefruit. Plus, pistachios are, like, maybe my favorite nut. And, I really need to try making macarons again after my first and only attempt (where I for some unknown reason decided to use only hazelnut meal) fell very flat. I mean that literally.
These Szechuan Green Beans with Mushrooms.
Anytime we go to a Chinese restaurant (and some Japanese ones, as well), Mikey and I always order stir-fried green beans. There is just something about blistery spicy-sweet green beans that we can’t pass up. I really want to try these because I am kind of really obsessed with shiitake mushrooms. It’s weird.
This BoozyButterscotch Cinnamon Roll Cake.
I just can’t even…there are no words…
This Hoku Cocktail.
I’m swooning over the idea of a tropical gin cocktail. And starfruit in a drink? Heck yes.
This Soft Cheese Bread.
I love cheese. I love bread. I love the idea of eating this super warm from the oven. Or making grilled cheese with it because apparently cheese in the bread isn’t enough… it must also top it.
These Marzipan & Orange Blossom Morning Buns.
Buttery, flaky pastry filled with sweet almond and orangey-floral flavors sounds like what I want to wake up to every morning.
This Double Chocolate Toffee Biscotti.
Can you imagine dunking this in an after dinner espresso or cappuccino? Knowing me though, I’d probably eat it for breakfast. Did I tell you that I had a candy bar for breakfast, last week? Yikes.
